My computers are named based on their processor.

Main PC: C2Q-Q6600
HT PC: C2D-E6600
Main Laptop: C2D-T7250
Second Laptop: Turion-ML34
EeePC: EeePC

Radu-PC = my main pc (thanks to Vista, too lazy to change)
Alice = laptop (since RE1 movie came out)
Drake = HTPC (Soyo DRAGON mobo - the POST logo is a giant dragon)
Johnny-5 = file server
Hera = my PDA
bedroomHTPC = is what it says - when it's running, needs a new HD

My naming convention has existed since I had a P133 Intel (With MMX!).

Processor chipset maker first letter, clock speed of the machine.

I have 5 computers in our house at the moment, so they would be:

I6850
A6000
I6600
A4800
A3000

I worked with a guy that said he named his gf's pc "The Internet". He said he hoped that she would have problems just so that she could call the school's tech support and get into an Abbot and Costello conversation with them.

ts - what's your problem?
gf - I can't get online
ts - what is your pc name?
gf - The internet
ts - I know that you can't get online. What is your computer's name?
gf - the internet

Warrior (gaming machine)
RGFTP (file/ftp/web server)
Netgear (wireless sniffing box)
Phoenix (software testing machine built entirely from spare parts)

Edit: Forgot Phoenix

Primary server / HTPC backend = Demon X(A/N)th (demon-xanth)
HTPC HD Frontend = numenor
HTPC SD frontend = atlantis
Wife's laptop = prometheus
my old laptop was = jabberwocky
Secondary/backup server = yggdrasil

I'd be kind of screwed with your naming convention having an Intel C2Q Q6600 and an Intel C2D E6600 😛. Although, I think your naming is off since the 6600's run at 2.4 Ghz.
