Computer Mouse Illusions - Does this happen to you too?

Ugh, this seems to happen to me more on my laptop than it does my desktop. Sometimes, if I have a cellphone or a small object that is about the same size of the mouse or smaller while I'm still looking at the screen, I end up staring at the screen and reaching over to whatever is on the right (or left for some of you) of the keyboard thinking its the mouse to click on something. I have to admit, you don't feel very intelligent when you realize you are trying to control the cursor with your cellphone.

Edit: Doh, maybe its just me 😛

Oh, and the usual warning label: Thread crappers, flamers or whatever, go pick on someone else if you have nothing decent to say. You have been warned.

I've tried to reach for my mouse when it's not there using my laptop. It starts to get really confusing when I have my laptop and desktop setup on the same desk, and then the cursor doesn't move when I move the mouse on the desk. (I've got an L-shaped desk)

Then the other half of the time I have the mouse plugged in and I use the touch pad instead.

lol that never happened to me, BUT, when I'm reading, I the urge to use cntrl-F is too much. pressing cntrl-F to me is automatic, almost as if it's an extension to my brain. I just have to think it and my hands willl do it automatically.

So ya, I was reading a book, and wanted to find a word, and in my head i thought "cool, i'll use cntrl-F." I realize a split second later that I'm stupid.
