well i fixed it. reformats work magic for problems... most of the time. everything seems to be running great so yeah must have been something software. i hope. thanks again for all your input

[If you blame your problems on the CD/DVD you installed with.... I really have nothing I should say to you. Commercial optical media is stamped, not burned.]
