Computer keeps restarting is it the DDR or PSU ?

Hi guys, I just bought a Samsung 512 MB Pc2700 and added it to my existing 2 ( 256), I have an ADVANCE 300 W Psu and a 2.53 P4, BFG 5900 Fx, 2 Hard disks, a Dvd writer and a Dvd reader. Everything was normal till i plugged my new Memory, Windows started normally, but if i attempt to go in a game it restarts or if I keep it on for more than a hour it restarts automatically, I just want to know if the problem is that the PSU is Weak ( and i'll be happy to Change it, your suggestions are very welcomed knwong that i'm getting a Bfg 6600 Gt AGP next week) or is it the new memory that is incompatible with the old ones ?

have you tried running the memory just by itself? Run a memtest on the memory. If it passes, then it could be your psu, or memory slot. Then try another psu ( a spare one if you have any).

Eliminate the errors one at a time.

If things were running smoothly before the new memory, then the most likely culprit is the memory. It could be defective, incompatible with the other memory or incompatible with mobo, voltage sensitive etc...

I am going to guess its the Power supply. 300 watts is not much at all, besides the fact that not all PS rate thier 300 watts as actuall, but as theoretical. So there is a poosiblity of it only running at 250 watts. I suggest tryign another PS, or unplug your dvd writter one of your hardrives and run a bunch of test. I have had this issue with Power supply before , i replaced it an voila works. BUt I would do some test first.
