Computer keeps restaring on boot

Hey guys,

My buddy was installing Adobe Audition on his PC when all of a sudden the PC reset itself. Upon restarting, it comes to the "Choose bootup mode screen". no matter which option is chosen, the pc restarts upon booting. So I put in the windows cd, tried the reinstall windows and repair option, but each time it blue screens and says to "make sure no anti-virus software is installed, and to run chkdsk /f" but I can't do either of those. Any help would be appreciate, thanks.

Hardware failure. If you are getting a blue screen with the install program then something is wrong with the hardware.

Burn this to a cd and boot from the cd. Let it run overnight. If the ram passes then you have another problem.

1. Check and make sure your cooling in the system is intact. Make sure the CPU cooler is not broke off in anyway.
2. Got a extra PS? If you do, try changing it out.
3. If you have 2 sticks of ram, try pulling one out.
4. What type of hard drive do you have? I know Western Digital has a program you burn to CD and boot too. You will be able to test the drive with it. Do not write zeros to the drive.

Hope this helps!
