computer keeps rebooting

amd xp 2800 barton
asus a7nx8 delux
2 120 SATA drives in raid

put it together a few months ago but rarely used it
a few days ago i put it on the network and used it
worked fine all week, today i go to turn it on and it just keeps rebooting

it gets to Verifying DMI pool, then it goes to the post screen again.

i tried safe mode, i tried debugging mode......

what do i do?

I have almost the same problem, 'cept with a different asus mainboard.. (it doesn't have raid)

I lowered the clock speed, then it worked... so I returned it, and the second one did the exact same thing...

Today, I was a mwave, and 2 other guys with asus mainbaords also had the same problem, and one of them were on their second board too.

lower the clock speed of the ram. if you have 2 chips, take one out and see if it works

how do i lower the clock speed of the ram? and what do i lower it to?

I will do the ram speed change and pull a ram stick out tomorow (just got home, too tired to mess with it)

You might not want to answer this question on the forum.

Are you running Win XP, and is it bootleg? (Or are you using the same serial number on more than one computer?)

This happened to a friend of mine with a bootleg version. (Twice in a row). It sounds like, since it worked until you put it on the network, it tried to verify your Win XP, and then realized it was a duplicate.

I have no idea how Win XP works, but I've seen it turn unusable on bootleg/duplicate versions.

Assuming you have your XP program cd, boot from cdrom, then go into system restore, and choose a date when you know it was working - this worked for me.
