Computer is Buzzing and then Crashing

Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me. My computer began making a strange buzzing sound. Some software will crash and other software will not. I opened up the computer to find out where the buzzing is coming from. It sounds like either the CPU, the RAM, or the motherboard itself. All of the fans are working normally and the buzzing is not coming from the hard drive. The buzzing sound is a buzz...buzz...buzz and then a one or two second break and then a buzz...buzz...buzz. My CPU is an AMD Athlon X2 4400 and I have 4GB of Corsair XMS RAM. Any ideas?

If you have a wire that can move in the air motion of a fan, it might be intermittantly rubbing against your CPU fan, which could cause your problem.

Could the buzz be coming from your hard drive? If so, back up your data ASAP, and if you have or can borrow a spare drive, you could try using Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image to clone your drive and see if the problem persists using the cloned drive.

If you have or can borrow a spare PSU, you could try swapping that out, as well.

First, none of the wires are in the way or rubbing against the CPU fan.
The buzzing sound is definetly not coming from the hard drive. The hard drive is working fine.
The buzzing is either coming from the CPU, RAM, or the motherboard itself. It is hard to tell.
What would make this type of buzzing sound?

I'm not a engineer, but I don't think a CPU or memory stick can buzz without dying, & the buzzing ceases. I would guess all 3 may have fried. But the PC should be totally dead. Use one memory stick & then swap in another one to see if one makes noise. Are any of the capacitors on the MB swollen? I hope someone gives a better suggestion.
