I have a dell XPS 700 ... both of my cards 7800gtx died on me..

I replaced them with one GTX 460.. and everything went smoothly.. I was running
windows XP, but I reformated to Windows 7..once again everything went smoothly until I
downloaded Counter-Strike Source.. I would only get 30-40 FPS the game is choppy and plays worse then my old computer.. I was wondering if maybe my GTX 460 is too powerful
for my other specs.. or if it's just bottlenecking my parts.

If anyone has any experence or ideas with this issue that would be great.

I am too the point that I want to just build a whole new pc from all the problems with this DELL.. and due to the fact of dell not letting you use their case to upgrade to things other then DELL products.. I have no choice

See the previous post regarding a full new Win7 install or if you need to run Nvidia 'clean up tool' and reinstall the Nvidia drivers from an upgrade.

Check your specs for the original PSU [it is likely to be underpowered for upgrading] & evaluate if you are going to over-clock the CPU and GPU.

Edit: oops Overlooked ONE 460 card

Err... if he replaced TWO 7800 gtx with ONE 460, I seriously doubt the psu is underpowered...

Yes this was a fresh install of windows 7.. the PSU is 750watt.. should be able to handle the GTX 460 you would think...I also got the latest drivers from Nvidia website.. but for some reason it can't handle games.. so now this computer is pretty much useless.. and going to be building a monster from scratch and selling this one or trying too
