Computer hangs on a soft reboot... Help!

This is really starting to annoying me, so I thought I would toss it out in the hope that someone can help me.

I'm running Windows XP. Whenever I restart the computer or hit the reset button, the boot sequence progresses as far as the blank screen after the BIOS displays the system info. It then just sits there at the blank screen. It's just before the windows XP splash screen, which never appers. If I hit the power button then it boots just fine.

Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Do you have an Asus A7V133 motherboard? If so, its a common problem, RA the board.

Have you run a defrag lately? How bout a "thorough" scan disk?

try cutting back on the oc, your hdd may not like the high fsb..
