Computer hangs at welcome screen

I just moved my computer, put it in the original shippers box, handled it myself and moved it about 100 yards to a different building.... Now when I load it up it hangs at the welcome screen of windows xp for quite a long time.. the music will play right at the start then it does this... Nothing new was installed and it did this the first boot up since it's been in the new location... could something maybe be lose inside the comp? like video card slightly out of place and just taking a little longer?

No idea what would cause something like this...

Sounds like a device is not working. Usually long delays are because some network component is not working that previously was. Next on the list would be a USB device. Check your Eventvwt System log for errors and Check device manager for unrecognized devices are your first tasks.

Make sure the video card, any other PCI cards, and your RAM is all seated correctly. Pull them all out and put them back in the same slot they came from. If something got bumped and is making an intermitted connection, windows could have trouble recognizing it.
