Computer goes into power saving mode

Here's the deal:

After a while of playing Fifa WC 2006 or say WC3 TFT (and recently, World Championship Piker), my computer goes into power saving mode, and can only be shut down with the reset button.

Here's the funny thing. I play Counter-Strike on a regular basis and it doesn't go into power saving mode.

Power saving mode is turned off =/

I opened up and cleaned up the vid card (the fan was dusty...so maybe it wasnt spinning).

The vid card is an MSI FX5700, the monitor is an LG Flatron L1715S, and the rest...is good enough.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you saying your computer goes into power saving mode or your monitor goes into power saving mode?

What are your system specs (your link doesn't work).

Well I would think that something is causing the game to run in an incorrect resolution if it goes into power saving mode like that. Try hooking your computer up to another monitor when it does this to see if anything is displayed there.

The thing is....out of the blue it does it. I mean, I'm playing at 800x600 (or 1024x768), and the monitor takes 1280x1024, and it just does it randomly. There's no change of resolution or whatever.

Well I formated, haven't tried yet, but will post again in this topic if I'm having the same problem.

Thx

Well I found the problem.

The video card fan died, so it's overheating.

The card obviously works, but can't put stress to it (Counter-Strike is still a pathetic 3D rendering game, so no real stress there, that's why it works).

Any ideas?
