Computer Gadgets for ~$50?

anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for a good gift to give to my roommate for xmas. he's a total computer nerd; I was thinking of buying him some upgrades for his rig, but anything that he's in need of upgrading (ie: video card, motherboard) is out of my price range

256mb flash drive.

They're 'cool' and useful.

I have a smaller one that I got for a good price, and it's the most useful single piece of technology I've ever bought.

Edit - I actually saw a 1gb flash drive for under $100 (canadian!) recently; they've got really cheap now... I think the floppy will finally go away soon 🙂

MX510, LOGITECH Z640, CABLE MODEM, WIRELESS ROUTER, 350 WATT ANTEC PSU, DVDRW, MS ELITE KEYBOARD COMBO, TURTLE BEACH SANTA CRUZ, 160 GB SEAGATE HARDDRIVE

Good idea - show him how to back up term papers and other important docs so when his hard drive crashes he isn't whining about losing everything.

Newegg has 256 MB drives for $23, 512 MB drives for $40, plus about $5 shipping. Or look for a Hot Deal if you don't mind rebates.

USB flash drive.

They are getting so cheap now, & are handy for everyone 🙂

My parents just got me a 128mb USB "Swiss Army" knife. I think they said it was $59.99 and is the ultimate geek gadget.
