Computer Freezing Randomly

My brother's computer just randomly started freezing erratically. It'll run fine for about half and hour and just freeze. It wont respond to anything, and I have to hard reboot it. Lately it's been giving out hard drive read errors during boot before it loads the OS. Usually if I just reboot that goes away though. I dont think the hard drive is a problem though since it's brand new. The computer is a 2 year old Dell. Anybody know what could be up?

First do a series of anti virus scans, spy ware scans, adware scans. After that go to my computer-->right click on the drive--->properties-->tools-->click on check now--->and check both boxes. This will check and fix bad sectors on your hardrive, while might also be causing this problem.(This will take an hour or two to finish) If nothing fixes it, reinstall windows.

This actually sounds to me like a power supply issue or possibly overheating. Have you checked the internal case temperature and cleaned relavent fans? Also test with another power supply if you have one available
