computer freezing issue

Just got back from boot camp the other day and my brother has been using my computer the 3 months I've been gone. at some point it developed a problem where any time I play a game(tried World of warcraft, everquest, and warcraft 3 so far) it just freezes every 5 minutes or so for about 10 - 30 seconds and then goes back to normal for anywhere from 1 - 5 minutes. pretty annoying. computer is running in the 30's and 40's C and I just updated the video drivers. running an athlon 64 3400+ with 1 gig corsair low latency ram and ati radeon 9800 pro. any ideas on what the problem is and fixes would be especially appreciated. thanks in advance

have a look in event viewer, see if something comes up. I presume you are using XP or 2k.

Have you done a virus check/malware check lately?
