I'm having a lot of problems with my new box (about 3 months) freezing. I have a Soyo Dragon Plus, Athlon XP 1900+, 512mb DDR RAM PC2100, GeForce 3 Ti 500.

It tends to freeze a lot when I'm playing games, like once an hour, but without playing games it's maybe once a day. When it freezes like this I have a loud continuous sound. It also happens when I'm doing stuff with imaging and my webcam. It also freezes when I log out of WinXP and leave my computer on for a while when I'm away. I come back and it's frozen. This one has no sound, just frozen.

I have no idea what the problem is. Anybody have any idea?

I have Soundblaster Audigy...when I first installed the sound card I had problems, but I moved it to PCI 5 which made it work fine.

What do you mean by PSU?

psu is power suply

you could try reformating, but it sounds more like a hardware error

heat, power suply, or ram problems are my thought

Thanks2c, I have the same problem dude, well I did.... where did you buy your comp or did you build.... I have a problem, when playing games, high graphic, it just stops and this irritating clicking sound comes out the speakers and I had constant freezing in WINXP and then I installed WIn2k only for games now like every 45 minutes... I believe it is the cooling but im riiping apart this comp and building another...
