Computer freezes?

hey guys...recently ive had a bunch of issues with my computer...well now after i got everything set up on my custom computer and all...sometims my computer will stop working and wont turn on until i guess it cools down? or something anyhow...i just installed windows on it and now i had to cut off all the power to it since it froze and i got no response from it...anyone know what could be the problem?

Please give us a complete description of the hardware components and what O/S you are using in your system.

everything is fine now...i did a system defrag now i just need to buy norton systemworks and call it a day...but i appreciate it
