Computer Freezes Whenever I Have my Wireless Ethernet Card Plugged In

I have a PCI adapter card that has not been working lately which happens from time to time, but I've always gotten it to work except for now. I removed it from my computer and now whenever I reinsert it my computer jams when it's booting up. It only gets as far as the WIndows XP screen with the progress bar on the bottom and jams partway through that.

I may have taken out the PCI adapter under power... DOH! 😱

Anyone have any advice?
