Computer freezes when playing games and movies

Hi

I got a Asus GF2MX running in a MSI K7T-Turbo motherboard (VIA KT133A chipset) and whenever I try and play a movie or start a game the computer freezes. The problem started about a month ago and it came from out of nowhere (meaning that I didn't change drivers og installed anything new). I didn't pay too much attention to it back then since I was planning on reinstalling Win2000 a little later and I figured that the problem would be solved that way. Well, it didn't...the computer still freezes :/

I've tried using different drives (currently I'm using the latest official drivers from nvidia), enabling/disabling agpx4 and fast-writes, reinstalling directx and today I took the card to my friends place and plugged it into his computer and it worked flawlessly. Heat isn't an issue either - the case-temp is the same as it always has been.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the damn thing?

You have two options. You can 1) upgrade to Windows XP or 2) There's a registry edit you can do to fix a bug in the AGP, Windows 2000, VIA
chipset combo.

Here's the edit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\SESSIONMANAGER\MEMORYMANAGER\
add a new REG_DWORD value named: LargePageMinimum
hexadecimal value: 0xffffff
Use regedt32 to make the edits

WinXP is not an option. Besides the card has worked in Win2000 before so it must be possible to get it to run again...

As for the registry edit, well it doesn't change anything...the computer still freezes :(
