Computer Freezes When Gaming

Hello, So I have this problem where sometimes my computer will randomly freeze while gaming causing me to hard shutdown the computer.

I tried to see if it was temperature related, and it turned out my temps are all very good. (I used Speccy to monitor, and when it happened I was at normal temps)

Then I tried to see if a report error would generate, and one never did. (It obviously isn't a blue screen or hard drive issue?)

I tried to see if it was windows 10 or 980 related, and to no avail.

I am absolutely stumped.

Build:
Mobo: MSI X99S Mpower
CPU: I7-5930k
CPU cooler: Nepton 140XL
Ram: G.Skill Ripjaw 4 Series 16GB (DDR4 2666Mhz)
Video card: MSI GTX 980
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2
HDD/SSDs: 2x 1tb HDDs, 1x Samsung Electronics 840 and 1x Crucial BX100.

Are you overclocking either the CPU or GPU? If yes, reset to default speeds and see if it continues to lock up.

If not, it's possible the RAM is bad. Run memtest overnight and see if you get any errors.

It's also possible your PSU is failing or is not sufficient for your setup. What is the wattage of the PSU?

Finally, are you using a UPS? Brownouts can cause system instability, and using a UPS can protect against brownouts.

1. No overclocking
2. Ram and PSU are fine, 1000watts.
3. Not using up, and definitely no brownouts.

So you've already verified the RAM/memory subsystem is fine with Memtest?

You should monitor your voltages while gaming and look for out of spec readings (+/- 5% is within spec).

Finally, do the lockups occur with just one game, or multiple?

Most common is CSGO tbh, but it has happened with another game maybe one time.

Yes, all hardware is good. I will do another to verify tonight, I did one a few weeks ago.
