Computer freezes during memtest86

Basically i'm running my computer with a kv8 max-3 motherboard, and the ram i am currently using is kingston 512mb ddr400 value ram. I ran Memtest86 for 3 hours on this ram and nothing came up....so i'm figuring that the slot is working fine.

However, when i slide in this Geil 1gb stick of ram, memtest shuts down after 8 minutes. It just freezes the progarm. I don't see this as a problem with anything but my RAM. Any ideas..

Oh and don't expect a response i just had 2 root canals....and im like almost asleep right now.. i'll be back later to check it out, my thanks in advance!

lol 3 days later i come back, anyway, thanks a lot for the advice and i'll try some of this stuff out, i hope it works!

Yes, you will have to tweak it until memtest86 works.

Some of the new memory is requiring a little more voltage, I would try to up it a little.(? 2.6V min ?)
Also, some memory uses very aggressive SPD settings, so try to loosen some timings until it passes memtest86.

That should work while you check for new bios or other factors.
