Computer freezes during games

If I'm doing casual routines like browsing the web or listening to music my pc acts completely normal, but when I decide to play a game it will crash at random intervals. I play at 1680x1050 currently running with no overclocking whatsoever. I have the latest catalyst drivers, have repaired game installations, checked latest game updates, ran a defragment, and did a Avast scan to no avail. If I'm missing something here please let me know. I don't think my video card is overheating; it runs 60 C under load and around 43 C idle. If it is a GPU issue then granted I probably wont buy ATI again (I suppose they still have unstable drivers or what not). Thanks for any suggestions here is my current build...

MSI P67A-G45
Intel 2500k
MSI HD 6950 2 GB
16 GB Cosair Vengeance
Cosair HS 520w

Maybe a bad memory module?

If you have multiple memory modules installed, try pulling them and running on one of them at a time to see if the problem recurs.

Only a crash. My screen freezes completely which forces me to hard reboot.

I'll try out this suggestion and get back to you.

Perhaps some of my troubleshooting for a freezing issue I consistently had in this thread will help you solve your problem. Good luck!
