I have 4 exact computers p4-1800, 256 ram, geforce2-400 w/32 meg video ram.

I play C&C Red Alert 2 on all the machines but only one locks up every so often.

I have MBM5 installed on all, and temps readout is similar or exact on all machines, albiet kinda high. I even added a case cooling fan and a case exhaust fan to help lower temps a few deg but to no avail.

The fan on the Video board is running, I thought maybe it wasnt, and thats why it was freezing up. Could it be just a bad Video card?

Any ideas? thanks

it happens about 1/2 into playing. I have swapped video cards with another machine, and see what happens. will tell me if its the video card, or the machine.

I'd say it's more likely to be a RAM problem. Do you use exactly the same memory sticks in the same slots with the same SDRAM and CPU timing BIOS settings on all four computers?

It sounds like the memory in the problem computer could be either

a) not quite cutting it,
b) running asynchronously (not 1:1 with the front side CPU bus timings) or
c) be a different kind with different timings auto set in the BIOS,
or some form or combination of the three things mentioned.

Try swapping memory sticks.

Yes they are essentially all the same. I will check to see if they are all in the same slot, but they are all 1 256 meg stick, so I am assuming they are all in the same slot. I did swap the video card, I could swap the memory as well, and see then. DIdnt think of that, thank you.
