Hey everyone I have a GTX 470 with a Samsung 25 inch monitor connected via DVI and a Yamaha receiver connected via the mini hdmi which allows me to output to my hdtv once in a while.

The problem is (and I had this issue with my old 2x dvi 9600 gso) is that whenever i turn the receiver off or switch the input to or from the computer, my computer freaks out and the screen will blink black a bunch of times while windows tries to identify the monitors. Sometimes the TV ends up being the main display or the resolutions reset or it just doesn't come back at all. And almost always my desktop icons and setup get all out of whack, icons will end up on the tv and not come back when i shut it off etc...

Is there anyway to turn off display detection? I just want it to always think there are two displays running no matter what so I can switch things around without dealing with all the display issues...

I hated the auto monitor detect doing that on my PC attached to my 40" TV when I used HDMI or DVI. The way I got around it is to use the VGA analog port on the TV via a DVI to VGA converter. Analog does not have the auto detect (at least on my vid card) so Windows just keeps the monitors however they are even when you change TV inputs..
