Computer Failure - Black Screen, No Post, No Bios

Im pretty sure I havent gotten any of those extreme viruses bro and while you're right that I could buy a tablet or something with that money...a tablet cant game or word process or act as a work computer as well as a tablet. Not without spending like $900 on a Surface Pro anyway. I dont need extreme changes man. I need solutions to bring my old computer back to life. I dont want an entirely new system. If I get a sub $100 card then I should be able to do just fine. BUT...if I get a sub $200 card then Ill be able to upgrade my current higher end gaming computer with something that has the VRAM for more recent games. So...I have to decide lol.
 
By shorted he means your card has caused a short-circuit possibly while not seated properly as you have described.

I would be cautious in case you have a bad PCIE slot due to this short.

Edit. Maybe find the cheapest card to test it first?

did u check the power pack?It could have been manufacturing defect. It could just be electrical surge.

Amol, I stated previously that I put in another PSU for the purposes of testing. That PSU is fully functional and nothing changed. It isnt a power supply problem.

electrical surge could have gone into the motherboard and wrecked a few stuff.
 
Alright. So, I finally fixed it and finally found the problem. Turns out that it WAS the damn videocard. I didnt know it could cause such a system-wide problem that it prevents posting and boot. I replaced my existing card, the GTX 260 (RIP), with an R7 250 2GB and BAM...its working. Fully restored. Mobo is functioning and just in case I have my other good PSU installed in it instead of the old one. So, case closed for now peeps. Thanks for all the input and help!
