Hello guys,
I've run into a severe problem several days ago and am stumped. Would love to see what you guys can make of this. I've been using this PC for 2 years now and it never had problems with going to sleep.
I haven't installed any new drivers recently or made any major system changes (removed Adobe Flash and upgraded QuickTime).
The error that shows up (eventually, after 5 - 10 minutes or so) is DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. What happens is that I put my computer to sleep and my screen turns off, but the fans continue to run. My keyboard and mouse is unresponsive and no keyboard combination works.
When I hard reset the computer, it says that 'Windows has recovered from a serious error' and when I click the 'Check for solution' dialogue, it says that my Ethernet(?!) was responsible for this. It's quite strange though, because this is the first time (happened 4 nights in a row now) in two years that such a problem has appeared.
Would posting any system logs or running any utilities be of any help?
I'm using Windows Vista Business 64 bit if it's relevant.
Thanks in advance.
