Hey everyone. I just got done finished my computer, asus a8v deluxe mobo, athlon 64 3500+, dual kingston hyperx ddr 400s, cd-rom, cd burner, viper case, cathodes, an 80 gig, a 160 gig and a 250 gig in hd's. I booted it up, everything good, went into BIOS. The thing is, after booting for the first time, i could not turn the computer off with the regular power button. However, the reset button worked fine. So i fliped the psu switch. The next time i flipped the psu switch, the computer booted up again, and i still couldn't shut it off with the case power button. I went into BIOS and set the raid controller on the board to run as another ide connector. when i did that I saved the settings and the bios froze up. My cpu was running at about 40 deg celsius. i used the psu switch once again the cut computer power, and then when i flipped the switch back on again, the computer didn't boot. i tried turning it on with the power button, but when i press it nothing happens. when i turn the psu on, the lights on my keyboard flick on and off, and the there is a green light on the mobo when psu is on. I thought it was the power switch so i tried to connect the panel from another case and that didn't work. another thing i noticed is that on the panel connector there is a pin missing. I don't think it was missing before, and the manual doesn't say that it should be missing. Nothing plugs in onto that specific pin. I'm worndering if that could be the cause of the problem. I also disconnected the hard drive that was using the raid port that was set on IDE. Can someone please help me. Thank you.
