Computer doesn't POST!

Ok so I ordered a new mobo (Soltek SL-75MRN-L) and threw my old CPU from my old A7V333-X motherboard into it, and bleh, doesn't POST. So I figure could be motherboard, and put it back in my old motherboard and...doesn't POST! So I figure I fried my CPU! So I order a AMD 2600 XP CPU, put it in the new motherboard and it still won't post. My question is, is it possible since the ram is not specific to this motherboard that that is the reason it doesn't post? It is of the right speed (the board supports DDR400) but the ram isn't like, specific to a Soltek SL-75MRN-L board. Does anyone know how ram interacts with motherboards in this sense? Would that cause it to not POST (absolutely nothing happens aside from the powerup - LED comes on, fan on the CPU turns on, harddrives don't boot and nothing happens on the screen). Help!

I would say it's something besides your processor and motherboards.

First thing I would do is reseat the video card, the memory, and reset the CMOS. I would not hook up any hard drives, floppy, cdroms, etc. just to see if you can get it to post.

Alright I will try that. Another question: is it possible to get a POST with no memory in it? What is the bare minimum I need to have in it to have a POST? Thanks in advance.

Ok resetting the CMOS was good, now stuff is powering up (CD-ROMS, etc) and its making good noises, but still nothing showing up on the screen. I tried using both the onboard video card (nForce2 or something?) and my radeon 9600...but nothing happens with either. Any suggestions?

Does this have that square 4 pin power connector like on P4 mobo's? A friend had a fic nforce2 and he forgot to connect that and it wouldn't post.
