Computer doesn't "autorecognize" USB?

I am currently running a 2.8 800fsb on my Asus P4P800-Deluxe motherboard. The USB seems a bit weird. My USB MX500 mouse and USB HP DeskJet812C are fine but both of my mp3 players and digital cameras are not workable because even though I plug in their USB connections, the computer does not recognize it at all. I tried switching usb ports with my mouse and printer to no avail.

Should I reformat? Is there anyway to make my USB ports recognize my connections? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of motherboard and which version of windows? When you plug them in and you say it doesn't recognize them at all, does it at least put anything in device manager, like 'unknown device'?

Its an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe

Windows XP Home

When I plug it in, nothing happens. Nothing is recognized.

Im am having the same problem but on a chaintech board. It won't even recognise the mouse which is getting frustrating navigating through system properties and changing configurations.

Have reinstalled but had the same problem. Chaintech support says it is a hardware conflict but there are none. let me know if you find anything out

No my old zip doesn't work or a printer.

I started getting conflicts after installing the included card reader but resolved them ok.

The I loaded the nVidia system management utiltiy and it didn't work after that. I know this looks into the bios and can change things but could it screw up the usb without affecting other devices. And a reset of the BIOS should fix that if it did

It still overclocked in the same way up to 2.5GHz

Sending it back to get it replaced.
