I was watching a movie when all of a sudden my computer shut down. All the power cords connected to my computer where connected to a surge protector. I rebooted the computer but the only screen that comes up is the Asus screen which says something about hit tab to enter bios settings. And I can't even do that. It never goes past that screen. I thought maybe the Harddrive went out so I got another and installed it but still nuthing happens. Its just goes to the Asus Window screen. What could possibly be the problem?

I am not exactly sure how to reset the CMOS I am reading the manual guide for the Asus P5N-D but it does not really go into specifics on how to do it. Or perhaps I am not understanding. Can anyone walk me through it?

Asus P5N-D Manual page 2.6 clear rtc ram

you can get manual d/led here - http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=yQYfAtkxxZMjR79G

It sounds like it's hanging in p.o.s.t. You might trying getting into bios first (Delete key, I think) - If voltage is low (like the cpu) it won't pass to OS. If you can get into bios, bump up ur voltages a little.
