computer displayed on a TV

i am looking for a way to display something on a tv from a computer that does not have an s-video out port. this is old packard bell computer. i am using this computer at work. we want it to sisplay just some basic info to a televison we have in another room.

i was recommended something called the TV View pci, but i could not find this on google, or new egg. does anybody know of any hardware that i can use for this. cheaper is better.

easiest and probably cheapest solution would be to to get a pci vid card with s-video. Like a radeon 9000 or maybe a geforce2/3. An add-on card with s-video or tv-out would just cost about the same. Look on newegg or ebay. They sell plenty of the older cards for pretty cheap.

A Radeon 7200 works great for Divx. I know it will display on both at the same time. But the monitor will be stuck at 60hz, same as the TV. I remember having a TNT2 with TV-out that wasn't bad either. But, didn't do both at the same time.

yah. this tv only has the coax input. that is the biggest problem. this computer wil be used only for displaying things on the tv. i might look at radioshack to see if they have any s-video to coax converters. otherwise i will see what else i can find.

has anybody else heard of the "tv view pci" thing? i still have not found anything about it.

edited for spelling

Hrmm.. What about to RCA? Is that similar to s-video; ie. could you find a cheap ~$5 svid -> rca cable?

i have been lookiong for scan converters, but i know absolutly nothing about them. do you have a recomendations for a particular model, or any specific features i should look for?

also anything cheap is good. the cheapest i have found so far is 85 bucks. that was for the tview micro or something like that.
