Computer died and will not power up anymore

Some time ago, I was working on my self-built system, and it suddenly just powered down. It wouldn't turn back on when I pressed the power button, so I tried to reset the switch on the power supply and on the surge protector. This also didn't help it power back on. My system was completely dead.

The first thing I tried to fix was grabbing a new power supply. After I put it in, I tried to start up the system and it was a no go. I figured something had burnt out in the mobo or CPU.

My next step (this was stupid) was to put the OLD power supply back in, and get a new motherboard with the old CPU. Once again it did not power up at all.

Next, I tried a new CPU with the previous combination. It also did not start up.

Finally, I used the NEW power supply with the new mobo and CPU and got power. However now when I hook up the connections, I don't get any POST and the system doesn't have any beep codes when I start it up. I hear the fans starting up and the drives seem to be getting power.

I've tried switching in new RAM to see if that was a problem, but it seemed like a longshot. It didn't work.

What could possibly be causing this problem? I don't think my video card is fried, but I could try throwing in a spare one I have. Also, if the video card was a problem it seems like I would be getting beep codes. Does anyone have any ideas?

Nothing at all significant that I know of.

I had recently installed a new wireless network card and was using that, but it's no longer in my machine, and is working fine in another machine I own. When it died I was simply browsing the net.

another long shot but there is a bios setting might not let you boot if your keyboard and or mouse is not plugged in..... check that they are ??

Keyboard and mouse are both plugged in, and it seems like even if they weren't I would at least get POST info on the screen.

I have not tried resetting the BIOS, so I'll give that a shot. I'm also going to swap in a new video card and see if that does the trick, but I'm confused by the fact that there are no beep codes coming from the mobo.
