iRONic, that is the nicest desk/monitor setup I have ever seen, BIG time jealous!

Thanks, mang.

I made my own PC desks for years just like many of the guys in this thread did. I finally broke down and bought that set up after I realized how my office reflected a not so professional look to clients/customers.

the one thing I'm always looking for in a desk is that it has a "back panel" rather than just open legs. Simply put I don't want to see the jungle of wires that my PC has running all over and with just 4 legs you can see everything. 🙁

I bought a folding table approximately 3X6 and put everything on top and still have enough room for a printer and all the other misc office type stuff.

I love it.

I'm also using an Ikea desk, but it's a 120x90cm Gorm(?? starts with G) desk; got it on sale for about $100 CDN, about $150 normal. You pretty much buy the legs and desktop separately to fit your needs. However, I must say that Jerker one looks really good. Also, I use an Ikea cabinet for the CPU which will fit a mini tower with a 2" clearance on top unless I take out the drawer. I think it's been discontinued, but I've seen it with just two shelves, one in place of where the CPU goes.

My Desk

I got it on sale about a month ago for $70, iirc. It's pretty stable, and looks good, imo. For the price, I have yet to find something this big that I like better.

I have the same desk and have had it for 3.5 years. Great desk, well built, except that my CRT monitor has bowed the wood. But I have taken it apart 3 times and put it back together with no problems.

Maybe I'm seeing something completely different, but when I go to the Jerker link, all I see is a table with an extra bar. You'd actually pay for that? 😕

um yeah. it's a pretty stable and roomy work desk. if we lived in the CRT age you could've fit two 40lb 21" CRT there with room for keyboards and etc. i doubt anything you custom build can outlast this baby unless you're a pro.

you have to visit an Ikea to see it in person to appreciate it. it's simple yet practical.

I use this one as well. I like it better then all the other desks I've ever used.

Interesting read, everyone has different tastes. Personnally, if you have the space I would go for an "L" like someone mentioned. I used 2 folding tables in a corner forever, then upgraded to something like this Office Max "L" Desk and absolutely love it. I opted for just the desk part without the book shelfs and filing cabinet and got a particle board knockoff for less than $150 that still looks decent.

Love the space, have room for dual LCD's on the center platform; keyboard, mouse, accessories on the front, and still room to work on both sides. Great purchase, highly recommended.

see my sig. i got mine from Ikea. i love it. it was 70 bucks without the drawers, add 30 with. i have 2 of these work desks. one at my own place and one at my old room back at parent's place. its a huge desk and now i have a 24" and a 20" on the desk you see in the pic.

edit: read your post OP in full and saw your req'd. i dont think theres a keyboard drawer option for mine. but there is a hutch available with this desk, just go to ikea and build your own "Jerker" desk. personally i hate keyboard drawers and hutches.

edit 2: there a few "jerkers" this is the one i have: Text

I have three of those lined up in my office. I love those desks. Deep, no crap in the way, recessed legs. I added the drawers to one of the three desks to keep my headphones/paper/etc in. I will take a pic and post it in a bit.

I have the shelf attachment for the jerker but how do you get it in? I only see two black screw holes when I go underneath.
