Computer Crashing Problem

At first, I thought it was my GFX card overheating because it did it on high-end games. Now, I dont know. I have a Creative SB Audigy 2 sound card (my neighbor recommended I buy it, why, I dunno) if that helps.

I can run nothing at all, and be fine. Run a simple game like runescape (sound off) and be fine. But, I have nothing open but iTunes OR Winamp, and my computer does the same crash, where a loud screeching noise goes over the speakers and my computer locks up. Any help? Thx!!!

try to get the latest drivers for every thing in your machine starting with your sound card then video card see if that helps

Hey, half bump half update, I switched from that sound card to the on-board one, and same problem, but strange enough, different pitch sound played over the speakers when it crashed -.-

(When I switched, the on-board one wasnt attatched)

--EDIT--

Wow I read that article, and f*** they say there is no solution that I am one of like the 50 one/million chance people who get it =(

--EDIT 2--

Now that I realise it, why does it still screech if I pulled out my sound card and started using the on-board one?

Maybe its some other codec or something that would be used by either sound device. Although most of your codecs come with the sound cards/onbrd sounds drivers......hmm.........o_O
