I had a problem with my hard drive this week. I would try to boot into Windows 7 in Safe/normal mode and would get a blue screen/reboot right away when going into windows. I restored a save point from January and now it's working ok. I still got a blue screen INSIDE of windows this time though.

Could someone help me figure out what these mean?

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID : 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 3b
BCP1: 00000000C0000005
BCP2: FFFFF800030CC670
BCP3: FFFFF8800B1A1000
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

I have a Minidump file as well:

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

thanks for any help.

try running a checkdisk against your hard drive to see if there are errors/bad sectors....

then I would consider reinstalling any drivers that may be involved. (graphics and audio drivers are most common ones to cause problems like this)....

Did you install any new software or hardware just prior to this problem? It would seems so.. based on the fact that the restore got you around the initial problem.. so keep that in mind as you trace back your steps.. You may need to uninstall/reinstall ..

Also.. sometimes a windows autoupdate would trigger a problem like this

thanks for the tips. I did run chkdisk and nothing came up. i did not install any new software or hardware.. but windows update was set to automatic. I just disabled that and will see what happens.

The problem is that whenever i reboot my computer, it does the bluescreen on the Windows Loading screen and I need to use a Restore to get back in. Then if i reboot again, it messes up. I'm thinking Windows update is the reason for this. there's also a Java update that has been running recently.

I tried different ram, unplugging all my peripherals, cleaning inside my box... I think the fact i can boot in with a Restore means that it's a software/driver issue.

just a FYI.. it turned out to be the hard drive that was corrupted. After running some tests we figured it out. Looks like an OCZ SSD doesn't last that long. I bought an intel SSD to replace it.
