Not sure what this is, but I hope somebody here can help me with this. The computer crashes seemingly at random, image freezes, sound hangs and nothing but a hardware reset helps. This happens anytime from one to ten or so minutes into the game. So much for the symptoms, this happens in many games: NFS3-5, Mechwar3, Armada, Flight Unlimited III. As far as I know, Quake 3 works fine, as does Half-Life and the only idea I can come up with is that those are OpenGL games. Now from experience I would say that crashes like that are from overheating, but nothing is overclocked (yet) and even with a big-ass blower in front of the open case those games crash.
You can read the system specs down there, but another problem is this: The videocard does not accept any drivers other than the ones that were installed first (came w/ card on cd). Not the newer manufacturor versions, not the reference drivers. I have tried all tricks (a lot) and nothing helped but maybe I'm missing something here.

I hope someone has a saving idea,

Problems on a:
ASUS K7V
Athlon 750MHz
64MB or 128MB of PC-133 SDRam depending on our mood. Neither 100MHz nor 133MHz solve problems
ASUS 6800 GeForce DDR running the v3.75 drivers and only those work.
Motherboard monitor tells me that the Mainboard is 35° and the ASUS GeForce 52° after some gaming without crashes
