When I turn on my HP laptop, all I get is Windows XP logo and then a blue screen.
This is what I get on the blue screen:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

If this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If the screen appears, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

Technical Information:

STOP: 0x00000050 (0xC315F001, 0x00000001, 0x8090E861, 0x00000000)

Before this happening, I ran "msconfig" and disabled all but one software. Then the computer worked fine for two times. That's it. It does not work anymore. :(

I have installed new memory, but keep getting the same error.
I have restarted the computer with Windows XP CD, but it doesn't work.
I get the same problem. Help please

Resolving a faulty hardware problem: If hardware has been added to the system recently, remove it to see if the error recurs. If existing hardware has failed, remove or replace the faulty component. You should run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer. For details on these procedures, see the owner's manual for your computer.

Resolving a faulty system service problem: Disable the service and confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer of the system service about a possible update. If the error occurs during system startup, restart your computer, and press F8 at the character-mode menu that displays the operating system choices. At the resulting Windows Advanced Options menu, choose the Last Known Good Configuration option. This option is most effective when only one driver or service is added at a time.

Resolving an antivirus software problem: Disable the program and confirm that this resolves the error. If it does, contact the manufacturer of the program about a possible update.

Resolving a corrupted NTFS volume problem: Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and repair disk errors. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition. If the hard disk is SCSI, check for problems between the SCSI controller and the disk.

Finally, check the System Log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Disabling memory caching of the BIOS might also resolve it.
That's the mantra for the 0x50 error you are getting. since you used MSconfig prior to the trouble start with the F8, last known good config, then chkdsk/f/r then the others if necessary or possible

Last known good configuration does not work (i get the blue screen and the errors). When I try to use sAfemode, it loads some drivers and stops at somepoint, i think mup.sys and then quits.

Can you get to the recovery console by booting from the XP CD? If not make sure you have the drive it's in set as the primary boot drive in the bios and try disabling the L2 cache if the option is available in the bios as well. If you can get it to boot from the CD you can run the recovery console and try the chkdsk/f/r and fixboot, fixMBR, and if none of that helps try a Repair install

Go ahead and do the repair install that I linked, it'll save all your settings/files/folders and repair XP, if that doesn't work it's time to FORMAT C: and start from scratch, if that doesn't work I hope you have a warranty.

You've got some bad hardware I'm thinkin'. Maybe the board or CPU. The only other thing I can think of off the top 'o me head is take the drive out and hook it to another system and wipe the drive and do a fresh install and see if that does the trick HDD adapter for hooking it to a desktop system Good luck you have a real PITA there :(
