Computer Conventions and Vegas

So my dad wants to go to Las Vegas this year and I will be offered a ticket, which will be foolish to turn down. While I'm sure all the sights and everything will be great, I can't resist going during a computer show or something. So far I'm thinking either Comdex or DefCon. What do you all think? Any particular computer/technology show that you've been to that you would recommend over another? I wish there was something cool this summer before classes start back up this fall! Let me know what you think!

It's certainly fun, but keep in mind that hotel prices are significantly higher during big conferences. Most of the year, you can get into most any hotel in Vegas for around $50-$70 a night, but during a conference the prices start at about $150 a night for a basic room.
