Computer Certificate which one to get?

No ONE certification will get you far in todays job world. Having a few will help more.

Ciscos CCNA with Novells CNE or MCSE in Win2000 are helpful, as most businesses have use for people with these skills.

A MCSA or a MCSE will definetly put you ahead of people that have nothing, experience is always the best thing to put on a resume though. If you want to get your feet wet and learn a few things you probably didn't know you may want to try for a A+ cert. It's not to tuff if you have a decent history with computers. The only reason I got my A+ is because i knew it would not be to hard, and I kinda took it as a begining step.

Right now I'm going for MCSE, A+, and probably Cisco. I'll be able to take the A+ exam by the end of this semester. Question for A+ people: Is the exam easy? I already know almost everything in the prep class I'm taking for it.

A+ aint that bad if you wanna go for tech support. I should get it... I had one of those study programs.. and friggin aced it. It seems like its no sweat. Of corse, I dont wanna drop the money just to find out that its really hard or something. yeah...

A+ is pretty easy, but you still need to study because they often bring up "legacy" type questions that can throw you if you only been in the computer field for a few years. Also I knew nothing about printers before I studied for A+ and I'd say about 1/5 of the questions were about printers. So don't forget about them.

www.cramsession.com Is a good source for Cert information.
