Computer case power switch

Hey guys, not sure which forum this should go under, but I just threw together a comp without a case, and I forgot I needed a switch(power). I was thinking about running over to radio shack and grabbing a switch and soldering a wired jumper to make one, but I didn'[t know what kind of switch to grab.

Single pull single throw?
single pull double throw?

Let me know! Also, if anyone has/knows of any diagrams that would help also ^_~

SPST momentary switch, normally open type. Like these.

The switch itself is a very simple affair, no diagram necessary.

If you can figure out which two pins on the mobo to connect the switch to, the rest is a piece of cake.
Best to consult with a mobo layout diagram available for most mobos on the manufacturer's website.

Course the easiest thing is to have a parts box in which you have all sorts of switches and connectors pulled from machines from a decade ago. Like this.😀

Or just short the power switch pins with a screwdriver...

Or use a standard header pair jumper - just slip it on the pins momentarily.

Hmm, so what needs to happen is the two pins the PWR jumper goes on, just need to make contact for a second? 😀

yep, just tap it with a screw driver and you're set.

Locke, if you want a really cool switch check the Vandal Resistant Switches by Bulgin over @ FrozenCPU.com . The ring glows blue, green, or red depending on which switch you get. Very cool.
