Computer Case Blues

I've been looking on newegg for a case/psu for my pc. I was wanting to go Antec because they have good psu's in their cases. There are way too many choices on newegg. I have a budget of $80-$90. Can anyone help me decide?

Size? Mid or full? How many drives?
Noise? Noisy quiet or very quiet?
Features? Slide rails? M/b tray? Lockable? Front ports? Lights/windows?
Number of drives, power hungry video cards, cpu will determine your power supply requirements.
Aluminium/Steel construction?
Reset button? Some cases are missing this farking button, absolutely necessary if you run windows!

Cheap, good all round cases -
Antec - sonata, 3700AMB/BQE,
Compucase LX6A19,
Evercase 4292 series.

Checkout vendors - newegg and directron.

the sonata is a mid tower and supports 3 5.25" bays, 2 3.5" bays, is VERY quiet, has slide rails, lockable, has front ports, has 2 blue LED's in front, no window, plastic/aluminum, reset button, and etc. you can run an x800 xt, fx-53, 2 raptor drives, have a sound card, tv tuner card, modem, all optical drives, and etc on it's psu. 380W is plenty. heck, a quality 240W psu can handle all that, which has been done and proven in a shuttle xpc. 🙂

Tied for my next case (most likely in silver, but has 80mm fans with fan control)

Other choice for my next case (can't find it with front firewire, but 120mm fans without fan control):

Another good choice:

Nice one without a front drive cover (I hate those things):

You are correct in that there are many choices, but depending on what you want, you can narrow the choices pretty quickly.

Here are the things I am looking for in my next case:
HDD Grommets - Very few cases have these, so it narrows the choices quickly
No Front Door - Again, most modern cases seem to have drive bay covers, so reduces choices
Front Firewire
120mm fans

So far, I have not found exactly what I am looking for, although the first two I mentioned are the closest I've come across so far, but are probably out of your price range since they don't come with a power supply I would trust. The Antec cases are very good in that respect, since Antec power supplies are very well respected (although I will probably get a seasonic for my next comp, which is why I like cases without power supplies).

Anyhow, if you can go through your existing case, and maybe figure out what is most important, then you might be able to get a better idea of what you are looking for and we'd be more likely to provide options that you like.

Good luck!

Well, im wanting a case with a decent power supply in it already. I have 2 HDD's and 2 CD/DVD, moblie athon xp, ti4200. I dont want a side window. I would prefer frontdoor-less but i doesnt matter. Black or Beige, maybe silver. would like to have 120mm fans front/back. definatly hdd vibration reducers on the hdd trays. aluminum or steel, doesnt matter, lighter would be better though.
