ok I am fixing to have to build hubby a new gaming system the games are kicking his old ones butt right now. So here is what I am thinking bout as far as the main componets

Motherboard- Asus P5N32-E since its quad core ready
Processor- 2.4ghz core 2 duo E6600
ram- buffalo firestix 2gb kit (since its on sale right now)
video card- Geforce 8800 GTS 320mb
hard drive - one that is 16mb buffer 7200rpm or 10000 (if i can find one that wont break the bank🙂

Now the question I have is what suggestions you would give on a case that this video card will fit in (heard it dont fit all of them) and one that has good air flow

also suggestions on power supply i know i need one with lots of juicy and dont want to go cheap

The GTS isn't too bad & any decent full tower will hold it if you have the space for it ... otherwise the Coolermaster Centurion fit my 8800GTX which is a lot larger before I swapped my main rig into my Lian Li full tower.... the RAM choice is fine btw.

For the PSU I'd go with somthing like this Seasonic 500 watt

-or to save a few bucks-

This Fortron 500 watt

For the HD I'd go with this Western Digital 500GB

-or-

this Seagate 500GB

The Seagate should be slightly more reliable, but is noisier & $30 more expensive... both have 5 year warranties.

Finally I'd suggest spending the extra money for the 640mb 8800GTS or even a GTX because the 320mb version takes a hard performance hit a higher resolutions with all the eye-candy cranked up above 1280x1024 & with newer games it'll be worse ... if you have to save money somwhere, I'd say step down to an E6400... the smalller cache won't make much difference especially if you overclock, but the better GPU will be a lot more future-proof & noticably faster now too.

EVGA 8800GTX w/ Dark Messiah of Might & Magic

EVGA 640mb 8800GTS

Thank you very much you were very helpful. This will only be the second one Ive put together and made the mistake the first time thinking any hard drive, memory and PSU would do but know better now. I dont what to have to go back in this thing like I did the last one a month after I bought it to replace the crap parts LOL.

Hubby plays mostly stuff like Company of Heros and Dawn of war games. And the system he has now just dont cut the bill on Company of Heros
