I'm looking for a career change;) I like computers and think a career in the industry would be interesting;) Have no idea where to specialize? Where do you see the demand and what direction should I look into. Any good online educational courses available?
Any tips or help appreciated!

So you're asking advice on your career? It's the question only you can answer.

My advice, however, is to stay away from any and all computers. These things are not good. They turn people into nerds and steal their lives.

Unfortunately, the only demand is to get the hell out of the industry or launch your own business.

I agree with everyone else... the tech boom is over and the market is struggling to recover. There are to this day too many unemployed computer people and you as a newbie coming in have to compete with these experienced people.

My advice is to go into the medical technology field as the baby boomers are getting older and the medical market is for sure going to explode.

Question is. What are your current skills now? Is there something you are currently doing that could be done better in the tech industry? If so, you might be able to meld the two of them together.

Agreed. The best way to succeed in this field is to couple computer skills with another. For instance law, medicine, and definately biotech! You may just wanna go straight into biotech!

My self, I plan on going into R&D work after I get my bachelor's degree!

Look into geographic info science. Search google for "GIS jobs" or something. There was a guy on this forum with a GIS degree who worked for the State Dept.
