So he integrated a whole computer into the space where the glovebox used
to be! Waaaaaay cool in my opinion! You may have som trouble reading
it but you can get the general idea from the pictures...

A lot of people use mini-itx motherboards for in car computers.

They are small, fairly low energy, and don't need a lot of air circulation to keep cool. On that webpage there are a couple car projects, the latest one is of a guy putting a computer in his BMW 325i.
 
Probably $600. $250 for the basic computer setup. $350 for the monitor. Notice his custom case, though. That's something you're probably not gonna find for sale anywhere..
