No problem. I will update when I get home. Newegg does not have the monitor that you suggested, so if you can give me a link to a site that does carry it, I will include it.

I know it seems silly of me to point out the most archaic technology on your list... but floppy drives are still used by some for BIOS flashing.

The only one you have on your list is from NEC, for $13.29.

At NewEgg right now, also internal black...

$7.49 - Samsung 1.44MB FDD:

$7.99 - Sony 1.44MB FDD:

Might be better options, I think I'd trust Samsung highest of the three companies right now anyway... though I admit, as an XP user, I don't know for 100% fact that they're Vista-compatible. But it's a floppy... how much error can happen? :)

Awesome list otherwise, thank you a ton. I definitely got some use out of this in quick-comparing HDD and GPU prices.

Moo.

I'll add both of them. Thanks.

Well if you are not playing games, I would suggest the possibility of using the .45 die process E7200. I have one and it is pretty darn fast. Just depends where you plan on cutting the budget and what kind of video card you are using. You could use integrated HD video and spend more on the processor. I am using an Intel DG35EC MATX motherboard with X35 Integrated HD video and Audio. This is pretty good for integrated video. But you may want a video card or a TV Card of some kind.

People won't use it because...
They love to post their very own threads and have other members bring them ideas.

To each his own, but it is available to those that will. I know that I have gotten a bunch of PMs that thanked me for this, so I am not too worried. Getting specific help is very useful too, so I don't blame people for starting new threads and asking for help.

This will likely be the last time I update the spreadsheet, unless there is a request that I continue to do this. This takes up a bunch of time, and I have heard far fewer requests now than when I started. Mostly though, it is because I am almost done building the computer for my buddy, so I don't have a need for it anymore. I am willing to update on occasion if you feel it is useful though.

Which is why I asked if anyone wanted me to continue doing this. I don't want to waste my time if it is no longer useful to people.
