Computer beeps when it starts up ????

My computer beeps when it starts up. It is two regular beeps and then a deeper beep. Then it doesn't do anything. What does it mean? Did I blow this computer?

TIA

Its an old computer P166 128mb of EDO ram (two sticks)
;🙁
Nothing happens after it beeps.... nothing on monitor .... nothing ... 🙁

Like wars said... make sure the video card is seated properly. Also make sure you memory is too. They both have a tendency to get unseated.... so it wouldn't hurt to reseat both of them to see if that's the problem.

<< Could be ur bios too I fried mine once it wasn't very fun diid exactly what ur saying too >>

Can you just replace the bios or is the whole motherboard fried?

thanks for the help. I reseated the video card and memory, but still the same problem ...

any one else? I've left out the battery to see if the bios will clear itself ... I'll wait 24 hours before I start it up again.

Check the manual. Those beeps tell you what the problem is. There are different patters for different things such as memory, video, cpu, etc. It's like morse code and your manual will tell you what the beep pattern indicates.

No manual. Its a really old computer. So I'm only guessing and hoping someone out here can gives me some help ...

No website. Its an old computer. Tried to start it again and same thing. I'm thinking new computer 🙂
