Computer Auto Overclocking AMD CPU?

Thats my computer setup and here is my problem...

When i first got my compuer i installed ALL the drivers from CDs. Including video drivers, mobos and such such. Yall know VNF4 mobos has a lot of features from active armor to its own hardware controlled SMS bus thingy mabobber. I also know intel has a lot of motherboards that automaticaly overclock such as MSI ones. Now, my CPU is running at 1810. WHAT? This could also be the source of my computer restarted all of a sudden for no reason and game crashes. Before all this happened though when i first got this computer and installed all drivers from given CDs, i used the Ntune utility from the mobo disc. Well basicaly it DID NOT work at overclocking and made my computer fail prime 95 quick and after getting all new updated drivers it wont even boot my computer. Then i had to reset the mobo bios. Then i tried to read up and manualy overclock my cpu. Im not sure when during that time i saw my cpu at 1810 but i think it was after using nTune a 2nd time. after trying and failing to manualy overclock. Anyways, my computer just crashed from the game Guild Wars. No it wasnt the server update, and no it wasnt when everyone else was getting error 7 and such which are ingame crashes. Im talking just crashed and the GW client asked me to send an error report. Arg what do i do to make my CPU at 1800, i think its what is causing my problems or can anyone else analyze all the info i gave you and tell me what happened.

I highly doubt a mobo would automaticaly overclock my cpu to 1810 like on some intel mobos that overclock intel cpus as i never seen such an option on the mobo. Has anyone ever had these problem i have iwth nTune.

wait are you saying your CPU should be running at 1800 Mhz and its running at 1810 and you are worried about that?

Thats not overclocked at all. Don't worry about it.

yea but its been crashing, like automaticaly restarting and stuff. When my GW client crashed in the error report it did say something about the CPU..

look elsewhere other than your speed if you want to troubleshoot. Its not the "OC"

what did it say? 10MHz is not going to cause the problem unless you have a defective chip. my 2.8P4 says 2795 in cpu-z and i wouldn't consider it underclocked

Its not the OC but it could be overheating or something else. Checking physical connections, heatsink to CPU surface etc..... Could also be software or you could be in need of a new bios etc....

ntune is cak.....it crashes everytime when trying to benchmark then tune my pc....so just screw it and do it your self from the bios

at least on dfi boards ntune is not recommended. some have damaged there boards somehow using ntune. if comes with nforce4 boards but dfi doesnt want you to use it at least with there boards could be same for other brand boards.

Most good OCers and computer nerds OC from their bios. Things are safer, more customizable, and you know what's going on when you change things, and only things that you change will change. Desktop OCers change the system to fit the OC, and you really don't know what it's doing when you OC with it.

update all drivers. maybe rams bad. reinstall stuff. could be anything...bad m/b.. such is the russian roulette of self building. make sure cpu is within safe temperature range with corectly insatll hs. the o/c is no oc.
