Computer audio to Stereo...

I used to run my computer audio through my old receiver using a y-cable plugged into the Tape "in" RCA jacks on my stereo and everything worked fine.

THe receiver finally died and so I replaced it with a fancy surround sound thing thats giving me fits.

The only time I get sound from the computer to the stereo speakers is when I use the Realtek HD Audio Manager software to check the system settings. When I test my setup it produces a sound. But if I try to play a CD or anything on the internet, no sound is produced. Nothing from the headphones either.

Any ideas?

i know with my setup i had to play with ALL the available audio settings to get my configuration to work (2 cheap 2.1 speaker sets) make sure all your channels are turned on in your audio manger.
