After careful selecting process by me 🙂 I concluded following items "MAY" worth the trip.....

1. Memorex 128MB compact flash sku# 282924..........$39.99 (after $10 I.R. and $20 M.R.-o.p.h.)

2. Memorex 128MB Smart media sku# 282923...........$39.99 (after $10 I.R. and $20 M.R.-o.p.h.)

*note- This is a great PDA for first timer or those who doesn't use PDA regularly - Battery still wouldn't last more than 1 day, I hate the idea to carry extra charger - Again, this is MY personal opinion 😉

4. Handspring 8MB + @ctivelink 2 way wireless module sku#285256...........$79 + 3 Month free AOL
(free PDA case sku# 276451 w/ purchase of any PDA after MIR)

5. Samsung 24X10X40 CDRW sku#289671................$79.99 (after $40 MIR)

Sweet price on the CF and SM 🙂. Think I may pick up that Visor since the OD deal was hard to find stock on

yeah.. rebates from C-USA take a long time. But I finally got a couple I sent in from Dec...

Yes the 128 CF/SM for $39.99 (Aft MIR) sounds like a deal! I have seen "off brands" for this price...

Is Memorex any good... or are they all the same?

I need to call them (wheresmyrebate) after more than 3 monts still not receiving the rebate, they'll say it's just sent out few days ago, then I receive it about a week later.

I did it twice for 2 rebates, 1 is netgear router, 1 is fujifilm cd-r.

It seems that if you don't ask, they won't give you.

that's what they meant .... wheresmyrebate? ;-)

Regarding the Visor with Active Link...

Does anybody use the service? How does this compare with other palm device internet access services?

If I am reading it correctly from Glenayre.com, which sends me to wolftech.com I can get free services anytime, all the time for things like stock quotes?

Any information about this would be helpful...

I picked up the (5) 20 disk packs of Imation CDRs that they have on the back of todays ad. It is supposed to cost $9.95 after rebate... This is going to be a hassle though... If you pick them up for yourself, be sure to grab (5) of each of both the two rebates (there are 2 reabates on each pack and you need one of each for each pack of 20 CDRs). So you have to fill out 10 rebate slips. PLUS, both rebate forms ask for the original UPC. So if you do this yourself, be sure you make copies of everything and even keep a copy of the ad so you can bring it back to CompUSA after your rebates get rejected...

Anyway, the guy at the store said that it would be ok to send a copy of the UPC for one of the rebates with a note saying the original was needed for a different offer... We'll see...

PS. The five packs I grabbed were the last that the Ridgedale, MN store had on the shelf. They still had a bunch of the "Smart Buy" 5 disk packs (free after rebate).

I've done the 5-20 packs of imations before. When I did it, I just had to send in 2 forms. Each form was good for 5 packs, so each req'd 5 upcs (and would accept copies). Don't know if this one's the same, but I'd read it carefully to make sure you're not doing too much work!

the rules this time say:
  1. Purchase 5 20-packs
fill out separate form for EACH of the five rebates
Mail all five forms with original UPCs along with one copy of sales receipt in the same envelope

At least they don't all need to be mailed separately... And reading the fine print, it says to use both rebates (there is a $8 & $4 for each pack) you can as long as they are all mailed in same envelope. So using a copy like the guy at the store won't work! You need to send the 5 UPCs, copy of receipt AND 10 rebate forms in the same envelope!
