CompUSA Zip CD-RW status update from Compusa

Someone started another thread saying CompUSA has them in stock for order at $279 and thay they told us that ALL orders would ship by Feb 1.

Some people have already reported they only received one of two they ordered and were told that MAYBE the other would come later. Still other Anadtechers reported receiving all 3 or more on their orders prior to that.

Isn't there some law that says CC orders have to be processed within a month? Is it a coincidence that Feb 1 is one month from the end of the sale? I doubt it. I suspect that legally, there are no outstanding orders after Feb 1 whether they were shipped or not. So yeah, all "orders" would be shipped by Feb 1 will be a true statement even if they never shipped a single one.

Also, its real interesting that on their website is says you can't order this product on-line but if you call an 800 number you can order it over the phone. Does this sound like yet another way to sell for $279 without honoring the on-line orders? I can hear it now, "well our phone order side of the business is totally separate from our on-line order side". The phone order side, just like the B&M seem to be able to get all they want. No I'm not skeptical.

Again, Please post your order number after you receive it. Some of us may want to use them as evidense in our class action suit after they leave us hanging. And if you are comfortable and ordered more than 1 say if you got all or just one. Thanks.
 
Can anyone please point me to the $30 rebate that will work with a purchase made on Dec 31, 2000. The Jan 1 - Mar 31, 2001 (the only one available on the Iomega site) will not work for me as it indicates on this rebate form "receipt or invoice must be dated Jan 1 - Mar 31, 2001." The "packing slip" dated Jan 25, 2001 that came with the delivered 12x10x32 clearly states "this is not an invoice" and therefore will not satisfy the rebate criteria.
 
okay, got it updated the firmware to plextor, nero doesnt see it, trying the update........
but the important part, germane to this forum- what is my 'purchase date',
and what proof of it do I have- in other words, what paperwork do I send it with what rebate? thanks for all the help, want to get that rebate out Monday.
 
Can someone kind enough to put a link to the old Iomega rebate form(expired on Dec. 31)? I think many people will need that. Thanks
 
A problem for Iomega rebate when purchased on Dec 31 is the rebate must be received by Jan 31 to qualify. So if you ordered on Dec 31 and have not received the drive yet, it's almost impossible to turn in the rebate on time. Hope Iomega would extend the date for all the people who receive the drive late due to this CompUSA's 4-week delay.

The delivery information is wrong as others have seen. I shows that it has already been delivered

but what is my purchase date? is it Dec.31, or the date I was actually billed?
and what counts as my receipt? can I print off the page from the Compusa website?

for the guy with nero- if using version 5, update to the .8 patch, fixed my problem with
drive recognition immediately (I can do 12x8x4etc....no 10x)

hey..u guys know which rebate form i need to send?...cause there is no order day states on the receipt(only the shipping date)...i order the drive on Dec 31...since there is no order day on the receipt..guess i can just mail in the Jan. rebate form instead of the one, which will expire 31?...or i need to mail in both of the rebate forms to make sure everything?
 
Good news--I just called the rebate center, they said send in a copy of the *packing slip* since this is an internet sale that was shipped to you. This is instead of the "store receipt/invoice" you would get if you had purchased at the b&m store.
So they go by the date on the packing slip for your rebate.
 
geez, i called wednesday and spoke pretty directly and firmly about not getting the cdrw, and i was assured that I would get one friday or -latest- monday...well, it's only sunday now, but my order status is still on back order, and i've gotten no new emails. And the number the CSR gave me to call her is unavailable from where I live...so i used dialpad and got no answer (granted this was on saturday, so maybe they were closed or something...i still expected an answering machine, though.)
 
Thought I wouldn't have seen the "shipped" email but I finally did after seeing many posts about "shipped" status.........yesss.

For those still waiting for the CDRW -- at least you shouldn't wait for the rebate too long. I mailed mine on Jan. 8 and received it on Jan. 26 -- that must be the record for getting a rebate fast!
 
Yes!!!! Finally mine says shipped!!!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀 But the tracking info says it was delivered to Bedford?!?! The tracking info is messed up for everyone right?? I sure hope so...
 
AmdEmAll--Well, thanks, guy. That must've been yours I got on Friday. I live in Bedford, TX. Seriously, I did get "mine" on Friday. It wasn't til the day I actually received it that the online shipping info was even half correct. Wrong dates, received by....even showed signed for. Hmm...maybe that really was yours I got. 🙂

how long after the "shipped" e-mail did you receive your drive? I'm just wondering how much longer will they try to delay the situation.
