That 60 gig harddrive looked good for $30 with NO REBATES.

Turns out that it's the 2 meg cache model even though the paper says 8 meg cache.
 
if you lived in CT, it's against the law to advertise something like that. they'd have to give you the 8mb version for $30.

60 gig for 30 bucks damn i missed that deal, i needed a back up drive.
 
Ehh, im still happy with CUSA after that 250GB 8mb drive for $99 with no rebates Wednesday. It was the first time i got a legitimately hot deal and there were actually a decent amout of them there. That, and the fact that the DVD player that was supposed to be $19 after a MIR, the cashier rang up as $19 outright, so i didnt have to deal with any rebates.


They still suck overall, though.

I had no idea there were 60gig drives with 8meg cache.... I would call that BS if I had seen that in a flyer, the lowest capacity I've seen with 8mg cache is 80GB.

It's against the law in the entire US. It's called deceptive advertising and the FTC has very strict guidlines on ads. You could sue them for this. This is actually bait and switch. They promise you one product, then they say it was a misprint and offer you a product of less value in place of the advertised item. They could easily get around this by offering a product of higher value, but I guess you didn't waste enough of their time and speak loud enough.

If you read the fine print on (most) ads, it will clearly say that they are not responsible for typographical errors and not obligated to honor such errata.

At least one (choose WD600JB). Perhaps others.
 
I saw that Hot Deals thread a few days ago, the thread clearly mentioned that it was the 2MB model.. Boohoo, cry me a river. 60GB for $30 OTD is still an excellent deal. You could probably have talked the manager into upgrading it to a model with 8MB if the ad stated it though, probably get a free upgrade to an 80GB drive.

on wednesday i went there to pick up the 900va UPS for $29 that had "APC" written all over it in the ad, but when i got there it turns out it is made by "Conextant"...

Which, IIRC, is a subsidary of APC.

It's illegal to do it on purpose, but they aren't responsible for typographical errors committed by the printing company.

They pulled the same crap with me on some computer memory. I overpayed about $100 just because I was impatient and wanted my new computer to work.
